Crossroads

Crossroads is a 12 to 18 month residential addictive-compulsive-oppositional-defiant- treatment program for adjudicated youth. Building on our Adventure Based Counseling methodologies, programming focuses on addressing the specific needs of youth with problems. Crossroads participants develop pro-social behaviors, enhanced self-esteem and sustainable, substance free lifestyles. Over a four year period, 83.9% of Crossroads graduates had no further involvement with the criminal justice system and a four year look at relapse found that 89.7% of Crossroads graduates reported NO relapse and 10.2% reported some relapse, but no active use.

Cornerstone

Cornerstone Christian Academy, located on our campus, was designed by to serve middle/high school students who exhibit behavioral problems. Data show that, of those who complete the program, 95% are reintegrated into the schools without further disciplinary incidents and 92% have no further involvement with juvenile court. Cornerstone runs during the normal school year, with students attending all or part of the year.

Challenge ~ NOT YET AVAILABLE

Challenge, will be an eight-week intensive residential alternative to in/out of school suspension or to incarceration. Counselors in this program bring an Adventure approach to their behaviorally-focused group counseling. Instead of spending suspensions at home or in the streets, students participate in programs that effectively address the behaviors that caused their suspension. Incorporating the concepts of Adventure therapy, the Challenge program reduces delinquent behavior by developing the socialization skills, self-confidence and motivation necessary to succeed in school and/or the work place. The model from which our program is mirrored has received the Exemplary Project Award from the Georgia Governor's Advisory Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. A 1996 evaluation of 84 participants who had completed this program from 1994-96 showed statistically significant decreases in physical complaints, depression, hysteria, negative excitement and sensation seeking, which are positively correlated to many acting-out behaviors.
