According to recent studies of students with hyperactivity and related disorders as well as a study of juvenile offenders has been the overwhelming absence of healthy outdoor activities that require physical energy and mental application. Much of the idle time in both of these cases was occupied by video games, computer games, or television and movies. Two generations ago kids had constructive hobbies. Today music and media seem to be the dominant interest. At Crossroads, we attempt to broaden our resident's interests by introducing them to a whole new world of positive activities. |
